Review: My Week with the Bad Boy by Brooke Cumberland & Lyra Parish

5 Stars!

Hot! Hot! Hot! This book has it all! It got steam, lots of steam, but it also has humor and real life and tear jerking moments. I honestly didn’t know what to expect going into this book, other than for it to be amazing! Brooke and Lyra have really done it again with this collaboration. Ethan and Vada’s chemistry is off the charts hot, but individually they’re still great to read. Their humor and personality comes off the page and makes the reader want to connect with them and just keep reading more! I love the jokes and puns, the book is full of constant laughs. Brooke and Lyra do a great job of portraying the small southern town feel and way of life. Besides Henry, Aunt Millie is my favorite character. Who wouldn’t want an Aunt Millie in their life?

Review: Born, Darkly by Trisha Wolfe

5 Stars!

Wow! This book is intense and captivating and consuming! This is by far my favorite book by Trisha Wolfe, she really outdid herself with this one! When I started this book I honestly had no idea what I was getting myself into, and yes, I did read they synopsis. I was so surprised with the twists and turns of the story, with London and Grayson personal character development, and especially their relationship development.

London is sneaky and smart. She’s hiding something and as the reader you cannot wait to find out. Grayson is intense in every possible way and so magnetic he draws you in whether you like it or not. This book will have you hanging on the edge of the page, waiting to see who telling the truth and wondering how it will all play out. I, for one, cannot wait for the next book!

Warning! Your moral compass may give you a stern look while reading this book and I guarantee you will never look at keys the same.

Review: Checkmate: This Is Beautiful by Kennedy Fox

5 Stars!

The name says it all. This book is beautiful! If you’ve read the Checkmate Duet Series, you know Kennedy Fox loves to leave readers with a major cliffhanger in book one. Checkmate: This is Dangerous was the biggest of them all and Checkmate: This is Beautiful jumps you right into the heart of Logan and Kayla as they come out the other side.

This book will make you laugh while crying and cry while laughing. Your heart will break reading this book, but Kennedy Fox doesn’t leave you hanging. As much as you don’t want Logan and Kayla to hurt, you will find yourself compelled to know how their story ends. And it is so worth it! Be prepared for your cheeks to turn red, your eyes to water, and to snort out a laugh or two in public.

If you loved the fire and steam of Travis and Viola in This is War and This is Love, get ready to clutch your pearls as you enter into Logan and Kayla’s world. If you loved the sweet compassion and affection of Drew in Courtney in This is Reckless and This is Effortless, get ready to swoon over the unapologetic love and respect between Logan and Kayla. This is Dangerous showed us a whole new side of Logan and Kayla. This is Beautiful will take that discovery so much further. This is the best book in the series, bringing together everything we’ve loved about the Checkmate duets, and bringing something that is unique to Logan and Kayla (besides just dogs and donuts).

Get your tissues and itchy eye excuses ready and dive in.

Review: Checkmate: This Is Dangerous by Kennedy Fox

5 Stars!

Kennedy Fox has done it again! This is Dangerous delivers a fast-paced, emotional ride that keeps the reader on their edge of their seat rooting for Kayla and Logan to just figure it out! If you’ve been a fan of the Checkmate series since This is War, you’ve been waiting anxiously for Kayla and Logan’s story. This is Dangerous isn’t just a second chance love story, its a story of personal growth for both characters. Kayla and Logan have both been a mystery since first introduced in the Checkmate series, so getting a glimpse inside their minds is addicting! So many secrets are revealed and emotions deepened in this book, you won’t want it to end. And in true Kennedy Fox fashion, it ends with a gut punching cliff hanger that will leave you chomping at the bit for book two.

Review: Checkmate: This Is Effortless by Kennedy Fox

5 Stars!

Oh my goodness! Kennedy Fox has done it again!! For every girl has wanted Courtney as a best friend and has crushed on Drew since the beginning of This is War, this is the perfect conclusion to their story. It is intense! It is a roller coaster of emotions and laughs. Mia F***ing Montgomery makes some epic appearances and ratchets the drama to epic proportions. How Courtney and Drew handle the situation with Mia and just how they treat each other in general is the ultimate relationship goals!

I love how every book in this series flows perfectly into the next. Kennedy Fox got us hooked on the idea of Courtney and Drew in This is War and teased us with it in This is Love. Now that Courtney and Drew have their happily ever after, very well earned might I add, and we’ve been sufficiently teased with the idea of Logan and Kayla I cannot wait for This is Dangerous! Bring it on Kennedy Fox!

Review: Truly, Madly, Whiskey by Melissa Foster

4 Stars!

I enjoyed this book. It was short and sweet. The characters love intensely. It seems like the story happens fast, but the reader comes into the story after months of courting. I love Bear with the children, its incredibly sweet. And who doesn’t love a big tough man who fawns all over a tiny kitten. Crystal is an interesting character. Her personal and family situation makes for a very compelling story. I felt parts of the story were too short or glossed over. I want more. I felt the ending came to a close too quickly. I hope this is not the end, I want to get to know the rest of the family more.

Review: Royally Relinquished: A Modern Day Fairy Tale by Hayley Faiman

4 Stars!

This is a sweet, sexy story of what happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay in Vegas. Caitriona and Henrick are fiercely passionate within each others arms, but once they step away the world crashes in. This story follows them as they navigate their relationship, battling the outside world and themselves to give their relationship a chance. Caitriona is strong and independent, but she still gets swept up in everything that is Henrick. Henrick is the family screw up and he loves it, until its time to own up to it. Both characters do a bit of growing up in this story and readers will get annoyed with them both. But their story is sweet (and steamy) and they fight just to have a chance. What’s not to love about that?

!!Maybe Spoiler-ish Ahead!!

I felt the ending was a bit rushed. I would like to see more of their story. I felt I was a bit cheated out of their happily ever after. What happened to Caitriona’s mother? There was a lot of hype around her potential to cause problems, then nothing! I’d also like to see more of Madison and James, they seem cute.
